Wiltshire Horn sheep
Wiltshire Horn sheep are one of the easiest breeds to manage. They are self shedding and so have little risk of flystrike. They were a popular breed until the 18th century and are now gaining in popularity once again, due to their many great qualities.
Wiltshire Horn sheep are a hardy breed with a placid temperament. They are easy to handle and move from paddock to paddock and the ewes are excellent mothers. They follow their lambs about and although the lambs are born smaller than many breeds (which makes lambing easier), they soon grow quickly. Wiltshire's are non selective grazers and they will graze a paddock evenly.
Our wether lambs are sold when they reach 40kg, which dresses out to approximately 20-25kg.
We also sometimes have rams and ewes for sale. Please email [email protected] for more information. Lambing is usually in August/September to take advantage of the green grass and warm weather.
